Welcome to Lyrics Matter, a unique program founded by Travis Holifield, known as BOSSMAN, the acclaimed Baltimore hip-hop artist. Lyrics Matter is designed to empower at-risk youth through music, providing them with the tools to create, produce, and express themselves. BOSSMAN, whose own journey into music began while both his parents were incarcerated, brings a deeply personal perspective to this innovative curriculum.

The Lyrics Matter curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including content creation, music production, songwriting, song arrangement, and an introduction to the music business. Participants learn how to create beats, write lyrics, and arrange songs, gaining hands-on experience in producing their own music. Additionally, the program includes business-focused sessions where students learn about funding music projects, understanding royalties, and navigating the industry.
